You just described by what I meant when I earlier posted about \”suitability\” of the Winchester 180 gr for use in 10mm- will it hold together and be effective?
What I didn\’t describe, and you hit on, was a combination of controlled expansion and weight retention in a heavy animal like a black bear. While I never hope to put any bullet to that use in a handgun for bear better to be prepared year round with the prevalence of the damn things.
I\’m looking at multiple sources for load recommendations and will start low and work up slowly.
