.357 124 grain teardrop FMJ

Ordered and did a test of the 124 grain RMR Teardrop FMJ,s. My wife is recoil sensitive so I wanted a soft shooting load for a Kimber K6XS in .38 Special snubbie(2 inch). It\’s a lightweight gun(less than 1 pound) so recoil can be a bit \”snappy\”. what I found is; 3.8 grains of WIN231 OAL 1.470 with a light taper crimp is absolutely perfect! She doesn\’t mind it and it\’s actually fun to shoot . Don\’t know if I\’ve EVER said that about ANY .38 snub nose revolver. Because I\’m into self abuse I shot some RMR 158 grain HP\’s I loaded for my full size revolvers in it, not fun.
Out of the snubbie they chronoed at 810 average. Good enough for a training load. It\’ll be a house gun for her, but I\’m actually thinking about getting one for me to replace my S/W airweight which only has 5 rounds vs the 6 of the Kimber. I carry the airweight as a backup with 110 grn Critical Defense. I shot some of the critical defense in the Kimber as did my wife. Recoil is less than the Smith, but still pretty snappy. The Critical Defense will be the carry/house ammo choice.
