4.2 gr Red Dot. 1.12 inch COL. WSP primer in S&B cases. This combo gave average muzzle velocity of 1044 fps, 11.28 SD, 36 fps extreme spread out of a 3.1 inch barreled S&W Shield. Functions perfectly and accuracy is similar to any other defensive type load. Would like to see some expansion tests for this bullet.
Should have added that th S&W has the shortest chamber of my 9 mms. It has become my only \”plunk\” barrel. If it works in that pistol, it also works in the Ruger and Sig.
Below is a medium-heavy load with the MPR JHP 124gr in 9×19; (I\’ve also run a few trials with RMR\’s TCFP 124 Matchwinners which I\’ll post to that thread).
If helpful:
–I ran these @1.109\” (knowingly long for this bullet\’s profile). I have some ready-to-test @ 1.0875\” / down-loaded to 5.0 gr BE-86.
–Just my experience, but with PISTOL loads I find more accuracy contribution from low SDs (which is often easier to achieve with moderately shorter COLs) than I do with fretting about the jump gap to rifling.
–Below shot at 7 yards rested on a towel. Not really a meaningful distance to measure accuracy…but all 10 shots were just about covered with a half-dollar.Description: RMR MPR JHP 124gr

Glock 19I had the same issue with my S&W 469, the 124MPR at the ogive was just too wide not to hit the lands. The slide would not go into battery. My solution was to use a powder that sat the bullet deeper into the case. I found that Hodgon HS-6 at 6.8 grains sat the bullet for a 1.090\” OAL (published data).
