December 9, 2021 at 3:46 pm #394820jetech ParticipantThis load produced a tight group. The rifle is a Rem 700 LTR .223 with 1:9 twist.
 23.8 gr. IMR 4166
 69 gr. RMR BTHP
 CCI SRP
 COAL = 2.260
 CBTO = 1.905December 9, 2021 at 9:48 pm #394918timebak1 ParticipantI’ll have to try that one. I somehow ended up with 3 lbs of IMR-4166 at a cheap price and have been wondering what to try it in first. I’ve got a 20″ x 1:8″ twist RRA upper that ought to do well with that load. 28.4/2923Looks like the velocity flattened out 28.0-28.4. No swipes. Primers all looked fine. Case head measurements were consistant with pre-fired. ***Information only, what works in my rifle may not work in yours.*** Will post some accuracy info after I shoot for groups. March 2, 2022 at 3:26 pm #414067MrGoodHammer ParticipantI see lots of recipes for different barrels, but none for the I’m loading for. Anyone have a fav recipe they like for a 16″ 5.56 1:7 twist, chrome lined barrel, with the RMR .224 69gr BTHP? February 3, 2025 at 3:37 am #527382snack-avowal.7l ParticipantI have a RRA 556 1/8 20ā BB. 69 grBTHP at 100 yards it consistently groups under an inch. Best 3/8sā. But very often 1/2ā from the bench. 2760fps February 6, 2025 at 10:44 am #527494freebird ParticipantI have a nice load with RMR 69’s using 25gr Shooters World match @ 25 gr’s
 OAL 2.250, cci 450 srp. Even my 1in 9 twist likes em. My 1 in 8 twists will shoot this load in an inch@ 100yds.September 17, 2025 at 11:44 am #53808417 Hornet ParticipantI shoot the RMR 69 bthp mostly out of 18″ 1:8 upper, 24.24 grains imr 4046 at col of 2.255.
 I also have a heavy barrel bolt gun I use with a couple higher priced bullets . I decided to load up some rmr 69s, 23.5 grains imr 4064 with a little longer col of 2.315 to use as fowlers and they shot amazingly well, my 1st 3 shots had a spread of .292″, the 4th was off so stretched that group to .568…thats pretty decent for a bullet which cost 15 centsOctober 7, 2025 at 9:11 am #538725lowellk48 ParticipantToday I am trying a load of 25,5 gn of TAC Mil Brass, Fed primers, in 2 rifles a 5.56 1:7.5 Wylde Chamber and a Contender Carbine that I built several years ago with a Green Mountain Barrel that is pretty stiff and 20″ long. The 5.56 AR also has a 20″ barrel. I was just wondering if anybody else was using TAC powder? Has anyone shot coyotes with these bullets, if so, what was the hide damage? TIA October 7, 2025 at 11:35 am #538732SC ParticipantThe 69 3GH bullets are good for the price point, but don’t expect them to be a Sierra Matchking. TAC is a great powder for these. I have not done any hunting with them.
