ParticipantI had the same issue with my S&W 469, the 124MPR at the ogive was just too wide not to hit the lands. The slide would not go into battery. My solution was to use a powder that sat the bullet deeper into the case. I found that Hodgon HS-6 at 6.8 grains sat the bullet for a 1.090″ OAL (published data). I posted a YouTube video on the gun and reloading for it, start at 14.26 where I talk about the 124MPR reloading:

Participant5.4 AutoComp @1.095″ gives me 1060fps from my G26G4
Also went for a +p load- above Hodgdon’s max charge
5.6 = 1108 had a similar ejection pattern as Rem Golden Saber 124 +p @1140
5.8 = 1140 but threw the brass a little higher
I’m sticking with 5.4December 9, 2021 at 6:02 pm #394859TallPaul
Participant4.4gr of Winchester 231 works well in each of my 9mm’s. Used W231 exclusively during IPSC competition, burns fairly clean and stable for consistency in loads.

ParticipantI’ll add mine to support…
1.063 MAX with the multi’s because of my Taurus G2C… wife’s Taurus PT-111 and my S&W 5906 don’t care. Both can go all way to 1.125 with 147 Everglades JHP… (switched to RMR after that) and ran into their fat ogive.. Still have 410 124 multis left and 1500 124 RMR-RN just arrived. I now have a Stribog A3 to feed so will see what length I can stretch out the COAL of any future rounds out to… oh, and 4.2 to 4.4 of Win 244, depending upon which cases I’m loading. (Yes, I’ve done case volumes on all the different 9mm and keep a a go to log of their averages…)December 10, 2021 at 6:43 am #394974twoodruff78

Springfield Hellcat Chrono Data (3″ barrel):

4.8 – 1111 fps
5.0 – 1131 fps
5.2 – 1155 fps
5.4 – 1188 fpsCaution: These loads are hot in my gun. I have settled on the 5.0 gr. load for my personal use. I have not seen any pressure warning signs in my gun, but for reference, my +P Federal 124gr factory ammo measured 1030fps out of my CM9 (different gun, looser chamber, same barrel length).

ParticipantI have seated the 124HP RMR Bullet at 1.060 and never had a malfuntion. So far at that seating depth, the bullets functioned flawlessly through Canik Mete, Canik TP9SF, Springfield Hellcat, Sig P365, Sig M17, S&W SD9VE, and Taurus GX4.
