ParticipantI’ve ordered and shot a couple thousand of the FP Matchwinners in both Zinc(130gr) and FMJ(135gr). For some reason I cannot get these to feed with 100% reliability in my Glock 17. The flat nose of the bullet gets hung up on the left side of the feed ramp.
Loading with N320 on a Dillon XL750 using Lee Dies.
I’ve tried the following but still get 1 FTF about every 200 rounds or so.-adjusting charges from 3.6gr to 3.9gr(basically between 128-138pf)
-4 diff barrels(OEM, LW, KKM, Zev)
-Diff COAL (from 1.05 up to 1.130)
-Varying amounts of crimp (0.373-0.378)
-Diff recoil springs (11lb-16lb)
-Diff magazines, with both worn and brand new mag springs(OEM Glock followers)Any, and I mean ANY input would be greatly appreciated.
If you happen to be using N320 with these and aren’t having the issue I am, please post your load recipe as well so I can try it and hopefully eliminate the feed failures.August 8, 2025 at 10:13 am #536826cavemountain
Participant1 FTF in 200 is acceptable by most. If you need more reliability then perhaps a round nose would work better. Flat points don’t work well in everyone’s pistol usually due to the edge of the flat point hanging up on your feed ramp, but somehow I would think you know this and you tried modifying everything else to make a difference.

ParticipantVery interesting. I haven’t tried the 135’s, but both the 124’s and 147’s have been flawless in my G4 G17 and G4 G34, both are essentially factory stock, except the G34 has an aftermarket trigger in it. In fact, that has been all my G34 has seen from day one. It may have had a mag or two of factory ammo, but 147’s is primarily what I’ve shot through the G34. Its my USPSA Production rig. Neither have had any FTF with the Matchwinners. Shot some last weekend as a matter of fact.
I’m running 1.140 COAL on the 147’s, with a small crimp, mainly to reduce the bell.
1.100″ on the 124’s, similar crimp as the 147’s. I’ve run them as short as 1.05″
Unfortunately, not using the same powder, I’ve been using Titegroup and HP-38.Are you running Glock OE mags themselves, or just the followers/springs?
Still hanging up with a clean barrel?Hope you can get it figured out!
