I am not certain of the exact BC but out to 500 yards, the 69 RMR shot pretty close to 69 SMK data that I used in Strelok. The results were hard to say how accurate the load is but with a 16″ AR, I was able to hit 100% on steel targets between 200-500 yards. The 500 yard target looked to be about 10″ X 15″, measuring with my mil reticle.

I’ve only had experience with AR500.

3000+ FPS velocities will damage the steel. 62 grain green tip has the thin wire inside of it to assist in penetration through steel but I’ve seen 45 grain Vmax and 55 soft points do damage as well because the steel was close, ~50 yards

Placing the steel face at a slight downward angle and setting the targets at a longer distances to allow the bullet to slow down before impact, will lengthen the life of the steel target.

No experience with BR-5 but I have seen others compare it to Unique. 4.5-5.5 grains of Unique is a good window to work in depending on OAL.

Based on the description of the item on the website, 1000-1100 FPS seems to be a good window to stay in.

The magic is where the cartridge leaves the magazine feedlips as the bullet is making it’s way up the feedramp. It sounds like you might be too long but be careful of seating depth, it can raise pressure. Not as much with a slower powder like Silhouette but should still be considered. You may need to turn down the powder charge.

Does the feed issue look like this or similar?

I would play with OAL a little more.

    The load seems pretty warm.

Does it seem like the cartridge is not being fed from the magazine quick enough for the slide to catch it?

Or, is it not feeding up the ramp and getting hung in the chamber?

    What is your load data?

I’m a big fan of Silhouette when chasing velocity.

Just shooting them, last weekend was on a 5″ steel diamond at 545 yards. The wind was interesting but the bullets performed.

    Fatboy-

What kind of issues are you having? Accuracy? Function?

If you are not having success with 8208XBR or Varget, then you need to look at other variables.

Check your powder drops to be sure that they are consistent. 8208 flows really well for me.

Sort brass by headstamp. Do you put a crimp on your finished round? I find that a light crimp really helps with a semi auto.

I might be turning my load down a touch to 23.0 SMP735. The 23.5 shoots fine in my AR and match gun but primers are starting to crater and show signs of flatness in the Remington.

I need to run some chrono tests to see how consistent the velocity is.

Maybe your gun just doesn’t like the MPR as much.

I’ve had a similar issue with my old 9mm Springfield 1911. It doesn’t like 147 grain bullets.

4.1 grains is what I run. It is a pretty popular load with action shooters…USPSA, etc.

WST is really fast. I would try the N320.
