.224 55 Grain RMR FMJ *with cannelure*

After all these years and all the begging and pleading from our loyal customers, we are finally making our own 55 grain FMJ.  My hesitation to bringing a 55 grain FMJ machine on was the price of the machine in relation to the margins we can get for the bullets.  We all know that 55 grain FMJ is the cheapest way to shoot .223 in bulk but that means it’s also low margin for the manufacturer.  Additionally, inaccurate bullets have always been boring to me and nobody has ever said, “I sure wish these match bullets shot as well as 55 grain FMJ.” I knew that if we were going to make a 55 grain FMJ machine work we would need it to be accurate enough that we would sell the kind of quantity needed to make up for the smaller margins.  Well, we brought our method for making really accurate pistol bullets into a rifle bullet and after lots of testing and revisions we finally have something that shoots really well.  That said, these bullets do have a cannelure which in our testing does negatively affect the accuracy but we got the design and the cannelure to the point where we were consistently shooting under 1″ groups at 100 yards through our PRS rifles.  Granted, not all guns and barrels are created equal but I would call this a 1 MOA 55 grain FMJ from a good barrel and rifle.  If you want to get better groups than that with a 55 grain FMJ I recommend you check out our non-cannelure version of this bullet.  Without the cannelure we can repeatedly get 1/2″ groups with a multitude of different loads.
