Description

These are a hollow base and hollow point bullet made by Winchester.  Was told they are discontinuing this bullet so this will be all we can get.  They are a pretty good price for a self defense hollow point in .357.

I don’t know if RMR cleaned these bullets, but were were exceptionally clean right out of the bag. If you want to replicate Winchester’s Kinetic HE 38 Special rounds this may be your best chance to get these propietary bullets. I waffled about whether to get 1000 or just 250 to play with. Ended up getting the 1000 and I am glad I did. Initial rounds from these bullets look great. My load to replicate Winchester’s performance is: 7.3 grains of Herco with a COAL of 1.500″ which gives 1196 fps (4″ barrel). Even better, no +P pressure was needed to meet Winchester’s published performance (max P came out to only be 15021 psi). I highly recommend these bullets to anyone interested and sitting on the fencepost.

Loaded a few of these in .38Spl, and 357MAG, all powder measurements for carefully weighed (mid range loads, not max), and I used a S&W 686, 6″ Bbl. One of the 357 rounds had the bottom portion of the jacket separate, and stuck in the forcing cone, never had this happen before. I will use the rest in 38Spl, and +P loads, not sure if these particular rounds can handle the 357. Nonetheless, RMR products, shipping, and cost are great, one of my go to bullet companies.

These are excellent bullets at a bargain price. I bought a 1000 pc bag and am back for more. I used 5.5gr of W244 w/ WW brass and CCI 500 primers with these bullets to get a good dark/dusk outdoor load for standard pressure .38Spl. Chrony said they were doing AVG 1050fps from a 4” S&W 64-3. Very low flash and recoil from a Colt Detective Special was about what you would expect from a factory SilverTip. Note that these have a hollow base and hollow point so watch the pressure. They’re intended for standard .38Spl pressures and that’s a good place to run them.
